The Little Giant Comics Old School Comic Show was born out of necessity. As a comic book collector, I was tired of what I saw as Pop Culture Cons, full of everything BUT comic books. What I also noticed at those shows was that the amazing artists we love so much seemed to play second fiddle to B movie stars and wrestlers. This is a travesty! The artists CREATED this culture we love so much! It’s time we put the COMICS & ART back into COMIC SHOWS! I wanted to recreate the Old School Comic Show that I remember, with nothing but COMIC BOOKS, ORIGINAL COMIC ART & COMIC BOOK ARTISTS as far as the eye could see. Back then you didn’t have to navigate through impromptu photo shoots, throngs of drunken pirates & light-sabre training. People didn’t spend their money on flea market fodder like swords & t-shirts. There weren’t any Root beer Wagons, those belong at the county fair, not dripping all over my long boxes! There weren’t puppet shows and magicians running around. It was just COMIC BOOKS, ARTISTS and incredible ORIGINAL COMIC BOOK ART. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy some of the other stuff that goes along with Pop Culture Cons BUT, I even own a few root beer mugs myself but this is different, this is OLD SCHOOL! COMIC BOOKS, COMIC BOOK ARTISTS & COMIC BOOK ART, THAT’S IT, NOTHING ELSE NEEDED! If you are a collector of COMIC BOOKS, ORIGINAL ART & ARTISTS then THIS IS YOUR SHOW!!! BOOM!! We regret to inform you that you will not find Wrestlers, Sports Stars, Movie Stars, Root Beer Wagons, Clowns, Pirates, Light-Sabre Training, the Beef Jerky guy, the Brownie lady, Puppet Shows, Magicians or the guy selling vinyl siding as part of our vendor line up. |
